ABOUT THE SHOW

THE ICE BREAK

An opera in three acts by Michael Tippett,

Directed by Graham Vick,

and the Birmingham Opera Company Chorus

Michael Tippett’s visionary masterpiece will find its home in Birmingham in April. A gripping and emotional story of inter-racial, intergenerational, political, and personal identity, it is an opera for our times.

Sir Adrian Cadbury

We are sad to hear of the death of Sir Adrian Cadbury, aged 86.  Sir Adrian was a great advocate and supporter of City of Birmingham Touring Opera and Birmingham Opera Company as Patron for two decades from 1994 until 2014 and continued to take an active interest in the company until his recent passing.  Here is a link to the Guardian's Sir Adrian Cadbury Obituary which gives you a flavour of the man.
