Welcome to our TV Channel!
We want to manage our own work online and that means finding our own digital style of production for films and digital media. Presenting our work well - whether it's live onstage or online - is hugely important.
Several of our productions have been televised on the BBC, including Fidelio (2002), which was broadcast live on BBC Four and a film version of Verdi's Othello, broadcast in 2011 alongside an hour long documentary "Verdi: The Directors Cut".
In 2012 we were able to live stream a performance of Mittwoch aus Licht enabling people from all over the world to see this landmark event in the London 2012 Festival. As part of this partnership with The Space we also produced 10 short films made by our volunteers, with training from Ember Television which were screened during the final scene of the opera.
In spring 2013, we began our 15 month exploration into the work of Modest Musorgsky with a special digital and performance project built on the beautiful song cycle Songs and Dances of Death.
With our wonderful singers Anne Marie Owens and Byron Jackson, and pianists Sergey Rybin and Stephen Maughan, we toured the city of Birmingham, giving pop up performances in exciting locations including The Irish Community Centre , Sifa Fireside , Kerria Court and Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College . Each performance was filmed by our crew of trainee film makers and with the support of BBC Academy, BBC Birmingham and a team of professional mentors, we produced 22 short films.
Check out some of the films right here on our TV channel.
